WHISPERS IN STONE
Time Remaining- Four Hours
Stormwind watched as she flitted around her apartment in nothing more than a sheer nightdress. The thin clothing did nothing to hide the full curvature of her body. The High Elf marveled at her form, and was entranced by her movements. Her figure danced from one tray to the next, taking delicacies and placing them on a dainty plate. She had cheeses, spiced algae that grew upon the rocks in the bay, and caviar. Constantly she walked to her dresser and looked down to folded silks. She would run her fingers over them idly. Stormwind often wondered what she was keeping in there. What drew her back to it? He felt that if she had wanted to share it with him, she would have.
Noriko moved away from the dresser and pulled at a few pieces of fruit on another tray. When she felt her plate was sufficiently full, Stormwind watched her grab a carafe of wine and sway seductively back to the bed.
Unlike other cultures he had met, it was not necessary to wait until the betrothal date to consummate their union in the bedroom for the Dakhym. In fact it was quite the opposite, as he learned of their people.
Because of the high longevity and low birthrate of the Dark Elves, they learned to enjoy their moments together and try to create offspring. The Dakhym felt that if they all waited until they found the ârightâ one, their race would wither and die. Such active sexuality developed from the fact that their race had almost been wiped out a few millennia earlier. Had they not actively promoted intense reproduction, the Dark Elves may have been an endangered species, if not already extinct.
Over the centuries, their culture adapted this need to propagate into their life so that it became a customary part of the courting process, just as much as singing, dancing, dining, and kissing. The act of lovemaking was just that, an act of enjoyment and togetherness. That was why the females he had met in his months here in the Golden Bay had seemed so promiscuous; it was in their very culture to be.
Vaguely his mind wandered to Carmella, thinking that if she were born among the Dark Elves, she would have never had to endure the stigma of birthing a child before wedlock. She would not have been branded with a tattoo upon her shoulder, nor would she have had to exile herself to the Order of the Sacred Fist. Then again, he realized that it had been the work of Ambrosia, and it had been her intentions all along so that she could attempt to raise another Warlord, and sacrifice their ancient familial enemy, the Bray, all in one swoop.
He shook his mind of the thought as Noriko crawled across the bedding and intimately into his arms. She lay with her head against his bare chest, sampling the delicacies on her jade plate. Occasionally she reached up and placed a piece of food into Stormwindâs mouth.
